Overview
Tretinoin Gel 0.05% 20g is a prescription medicine of retinoid category that is intended for treatment of acne vulgaris. Tretinoin Gel stimulates the process of skin cell renewal and prevents dead skin cells from accumulation in hair follicles; hence, blocked pores, comedones, and inflammation heal. The symptoms improve slowly; at first, acne condition may become worse due to using Tretinoin Gel.The gel should be applied in a thin layer on clean and dry skin in a dose adequate to cover the whole area once a day in the evenings or as directed by your physician. Tretinoin Gel should not be used near the eye areas, mouth, lips, corners of the nose, injured skin, eczemas, and sunburns. The excessive amount of the gel or increased frequency of its usage does not improve the condition faster.
It can manifest itself in terms of dryness, redness, flaking, warming sensation, stinging and sensitization to sun light. Cleanse with the help of a mild cleanser, a non-comedogenic moisturizer, and a sunscreen lotion during the daytime. Stay away from using harsh scrubs, waxes and any other skin irritants unless suggested by your physician. Discontinue the use of the product in case of severe swelling, blisters or irritation. Let your physician know that you are pregnant, intend to become pregnant or lactating.
How to use
- Wash the affected area with a mild cleanser and allow the skin to dry completely.
- Apply a pea-sized amount in a thin layer over the affected area once daily, preferably at bedtime.
- Avoid contact with the eyes, lips, corners of the nose, broken skin and sunburned areas. Wash your hands after application.
- Use a gentle moisturiser if dryness occurs and apply broad-spectrum sunscreen every morning.
